Each year, International Major Entrance Scholarships (I.M.E.S) and Outstanding International Students Awards are offered to exceptional international students entering undergraduate programs at University of British Columbia. The scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years of study and runs for the entire degree year.

To be considered for the International Major Entrance Scholarship or Outstanding International Scholarship Award, you must:
• be new to University of British Columbia, entering directly from secondary school or post secondary (university or college)
- • be an international student who will be studying at University of British Columbia on a Canadian study permit (student visa). (Changes to your citizenship status will affect your scholarship eligibility.)
- • demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, intellectual promise, as well as impressive extracurricular and community involvement
- • apply to University of British Columbia by 15 January
If you apply for the scholaship by 15 January, you will be automatically considered for the I.M.E.S or O.I.S Award.
